TRUE Shooting
Turn
Shooting starts with your feet. At TRUE Shooting we say "you make shots with your feet." In order to make a shot you need a solid base, on balance, with your feet slightly turned to get your shooting side forward and in line.
Rhythym
We tell shooters to get in a "rhythym" by dipping the ball prior to shooting. The quick down and up motion helps create a smooth motion and supplies the power to shoot from deep range.
Umbrella
After the shot we say "make an umbrella with both hands." It is important to shoot with two hands to the rim for stability on the ball. If your guide hand comes off the ball too quickly, the ball can become unbalanced and creates left and right misses.
Engage
We teach the players and the parents how to become their own best shooting coach. Players will become invested in their own success by making a plan and charting their progress.
